From the Owner:
Aloha From Hawaii,
I came to Hawaii from Japan with the intention of staying for just a few months to visit my Grandmothers ancestral homeland and surf. Now more than 20 years later, a Bachelors Degree from The University of Hawaii at Hilo, a Wife and three kids later I’m still here!
Like many people my Scuba journey began with a Discover Scuba Dive as a Crew Member aboard the Body Glove Snorkel Boat “Kanoa”. Some years later my wife Yoshie and I would be married on that same boat! (Thanks Maggie!)
After a few years with Body Glove I jumped ship and started diving with Breeze Hawaii, where I first cut my teeth in the Scuba industry.
While attending the University of Hawaii at Hilo, I began using the knowledge and skills that I had learned on the water and at UHH and applied them to land based tours. I started with Jack’s Tours on a big 56 seat Motor Coach Tour Bus and learned from some of the most knowledgeable Kupuna (elders) in the business! Starting with Circle Island tours then working my way to Kilauea, Mauna Kea, Kona Town, South Point, Green Sand Beach, Hilo Town, Pololu Valley, Waipio Valley, Kohala Mountain… Lava, Hiking, Star Gazing, Whale Watching, etc, etc… If there is a tour on this island I have probably Guided it…
Now a PADI professional since 2004 and an Interpretive Guide since 2001 my love for diving and Guiding is still going strong!
My love for this Island and our community is also ever growing. The Island speaks to my heart from the summit of Mauna Kea to the depths of her warm tropical seas…
Aloha Wao Ia O’e Moku O Keawe!
Come with us to see and hear what the Island has to say to you…
Mahalo,
Chris
